By registering for SAS 495, you will be enrolled in an internship that is under the auspices of a university agreement that will assign a faculty member to provide guidance to you during your internship. Being enrolled in this course will allow you to benefit more fully from the internship by affording you the opportunity to:

  • Navigate your role as an intern and the workplace with professionalism
  • Develop relationships with your supervisor and coworkers
  • Learn what actions and values will enable you to successfully retain the internship
  • Cultivate competence and confidence through all of your internship responsibilities
  • Assess your progress, manage your challenges  and learn how to accept constructive criticism
  • Help you successfully navigate challenges and identify time management skills.
  • Students may apply to earn academic credit for an internship by registering for SAS 495. The University cannot retroactively award academic credit for an internship, so students must apply to participate in the internship-for-credit program before the start of their internships.
