The 17 departments and seven special programs within the School of Arts and Sciences offer diverse degree programs that emphasize both research and teaching. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to work side-by-side with expert faculty conducting advanced research and to engage in a wide range of learning experiences that will broaden their world view and deepen their understanding.

On the undergraduate level, every area of study is presented in the context of a broad grounding in the liberal arts that includes courses in philosophy, theology, English, and foundational courses specific to each major. All of our departments and programs are united in a quest for truth and a commitment to applying knowledge for the betterment of humanity.
