Elizabeth Huggard is an Early Childhood Education student from Stewart Manor, NY. She shares why she chose to attend Catholic University, and what advice she has for prospective students.

Why did you choose to attend Catholic University?

"I chose to attend Catholic University because it was truly everything that I was looking for in a college – Catholic values, a tightly-knit campus community, strong academic programs, and very friendly people. I did not originally know that I wanted to go to school in a city, but I am so glad that I did. Being in the nation's capital truly gives Catholic University students 'the best of both worlds.'"

What's been your favorite part of being a student at Catholic University?

"My favorite part of being a student at Catholic University is my involvement in campus activities while also being fully invested in my major. This past fall, I was student teaching full-time in a first grade classroom. I absolutely loved this experience, but I wanted to make sure that I was still connected to the campus community. As the President of Program Board, I was able to attend on-campus events and meetings each week while leading a group of over thirty talented students. It was really nice to be have the opportunity to lead in both my profession and on campus."

What advice would you give to prospective students?

"I would tell prospective students to go to school wherever they feel most at home. I remember touring a seemingly endless number of schools during my senior year of high school just waiting for one to 'click.' I was doubtful that I would ever experience this feeling until I stepped foot on Catholic's campus on Odyssey Day. I hope that you join us at Catholic University so that you can be part of our campus community; we would love to have you as a Cardinal!"
