What We Do
The Department of Economics provides a rigorous education that equips students with strong writing, critical-thinking, and data-analysis skills. Through courses that blend theory and applied learning, students learn to evaluate complex economic problems, analyze data effectively, and communicate insights clearly — a powerful combination that makes our graduates highly successful in any career they choose.
Internship Opportunities
Students in our program regularly receive announcements about internship opportunities — especially throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area. Many of these positions can be applied for directly online, and eligible students may earn academic credit for internships during the semester or summer. With the Metro station located right next to campus, students interning on Capitol Hill or in downtown D.C. enjoy easy access to the heart of the nation’s capital.
