Students accepted to The Catholic University of America are invited to explore their academic and career goals within a faith-based liberal arts education. At the School of Arts and Sciences, we emphasize excellence in scholarship across 17 departments and more than 90 undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs. Our school is like a liberal arts college embedded within the broader university, offering programs in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and sciences. All of our departments are committed to upholding our Catholic mission and values.

Undergraduates are invited to specify an intended major if they choose. They also are encouraged to apply as an exploratory student. In either case, first-year students will have an opportunity to consider the more than 30 arts and sciences undergraduate programs offered within our school. Prospective students are invited to contact the Office of Admission to request more information, arrange a campus visit, or submit an application.

Graduate students will find that Catholic University remains faithful to its founding mission as a graduate research institution. Our commitment to excellence in graduate study is unwavering. The School of Arts and Sciences offers more than 60 master's and doctoral programs in 16 different disciplines. Faculty advisors are available to answer questions from prospective graduate students and to provide guidance through the graduate application process.

International students can count on our  International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) team to provide a variety of support services and programs to help them navigate the unique challenges they face — including immigration issues, language programs, and orientation.
