The Philip and Thérèse Rousseau Memorial Library
209 McMahon Hall
Hours: 9-5 M-F
This non-circulating research library specializes in the history and culture of early Christianity and its continuation into the western and Byzantine middle ages and the Renaissance. Its holdings complement the classical Mediterranean and Near Eastern holdings of the Bernard M. Peebles Memorial Library across the hall. Both collections are primarily focused on texts in the original languages, commentaries, translations, atlases, encyclopedias, and other reference tools. With the exception of key collections of primary sources--Sources chrétiennes, Loeb Classical Library, Fathers of the Church and Dumbarton Oaks Medieval Library--holdings are intended to complement rather than duplicate those of Mullen Library and the Semitics/ICOR Library.
Use of the Rousseau Library is restricted to CUA students, faculty, and staff whose academic work requires consultation of its materials. It is not otherwise intended as study space for the campus community.
All questions regarding the use of the library should be directed to Mr. Paul Cooper (cooperp@cua.edu). He may be reached by phone at 202-319-5216.
