The Medieval Society presented our annual Medieval Banquet this year on February 20th in the dignified atmosphere of Heritage Hall. The event brought students from across the university together with faculty, including such illustrious guests as Dean Lynn Mayer and Provost Aaron Dominguez, to share in an appreciation of medieval culture. Through the generosity of faculty and students who cooked dishes based on medieval recipes, served, and performed, we successfully entertained and educated an audience of 30 with food, music, and explanations from our faculty advisor, Dr. Jennifer Paxton. We enjoyed delicacies such as venison stew prepared by Dr. Timothy Noone, tart de bry prepared by Dr. Paxton, and mussels prepared by Ariel Hobbs, vice president of the Medieval Society. The evening culminated with a cake shaped like a castle based on the façade of Gibbons Hall leaving everyone thoroughly delighted.
