Sharon Yun B.A. '89 passed away in September 2022, leaving behind a loving family who adored her. She was a devoted daughter, loyal sister, caring aunt and cousin, and cherished friend and neighbor. In her memory, her mother, Sue Yun RN, MSN '65, established endowed scholarships using the proceeds from her daughter's estate.


The Sharon Yun Scholarship is in honor of Sharon's studies at Catholic University and will be held in the School of Arts and Sciences. The Rev. Msgr. John J. Enzler Scholarship in the National Catholic School of Social Services recognizes for his acceptance and support of the Korean community in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  He is the retired President and CEO of Catholic Charities of Washington DC, and a current Board member of NCSSS. The Dean Sister Charles Marie Endowed Scholarship in the Conway School of Nursing is in honor of the Dean of the School of Nursing when Sue Yun studied at Catholic University as an international student.  


Sharon graduated from the Catholic University of America with a degree in political science. She then obtained her master's degree from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. She worked for the Federal government for more than 30 years and visited over 50 countries for official business and leisure.


Sharon had a passion for travel and had visited most of the Presidential libraries and National Parks. She was a regular attendee of her YMCA Zumba classes and was devoted to community service and assistance for children and seniors. She volunteered for the Korean Community of Our Lady Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, MD, and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Korean American Scholarship Foundation. The Sharon Yun Scholarship was also supported by the Korean American Scholarship Foundation.
